Krista Laos
"As times change I am more and more captivated by the elegant simplicity and the simplicity of the elegance"
Krista Laos
Krista Laos, who studied jewelry design at the legendary Estonian National Institute of Art from 1973 to 1978, can be characterised as a true minimalist, with a touch of sheer femininity and attempt to capture the movement. The finely crafted silver and carefully selected gems play with the light and carefully selected motifs and forms create a dialogue.
Krista Laos's exceptional creativity and high level of professionalism, which has advanced the Estonian jewelery scene, has been recognized with the most prestigeous jewelry award in Estonia, the Ede Kurrel Prize, in 1999. Her works have been admired at nine solo and dozens of international exhibitions all over the world. No wonder one can find her jewelry in the permanent collections of the Estonian Museum of Applied Arts and Design.
Ehestu e-gallery is honored to present three of Krista Laos's minimalist, jet gentle and diverse small series: Pearl Game, Zorro and Mari.
