Ülle Kõuts
"For me, jewelry is a small form of an abstract art that is closely related to the wearer, it gives one confidence and supports one's personality."
- Ülle Kõuts
Ülle Kõuts, a graduate of the legendary Estonian National Institute of Art, is the only master of the Marriage of Metals technique in Estonia. Ülle Kõuts has used this complex and demanding technique to express her creative endeavours in minimalism and love for harmony for the last 25 years.
The time-consuming manual combination of different metal surfaces creates a unique and glowing velvety striped surface. The line, a recurring element in Ülle Kõuts's jewellery, can be easily linked to classical pillars, never-ending stairs as well as sheet music.
We are honoured to present a number of extraordinary pieces of jewellery born in the Marriage of Metals technique, as well as other minimalist small series "Lengthwise", "Crosswise", "Small Flute" and "Golden Flute" and the always witty and necessary "Lifebuoy".
