ARRAK "AWAKENING VENUS" (1971) SILK SCARF 87 x 87 cm

ARRAK AWAKENING VENUS 1971 silk scarf is based on artwork of a famous Estonian painter Jüri Arrak – Awakening Venus (1971). 

“When I was two, I was given a nanny, Nadja. I don’t remember my mother’s tenderness and body at all. Nor I remember sitting on my mother’s lap. But I remember the body of nanny Nadja. Nadja would be synonymous with femininity, softness and tenderness, which has influenced me throughout my life. In a word – the woman as such has influenced me. But not only as a sexual partner or if only as a mother. Rather, the tenderness, softness and care that comes from a woman – this has influenced” – wrote J.Arrak in “Õhtuleht” (2.12.2017).
