ARRAK SEATED WOMAN 1966 silk scarf is based on artwork of a famous Estonian painter Jüri Arrak – Seated woman (1966).
Original painting: oil on canvas, 48.8 ×69.5 cm, The Art Museum of Estonia’s collection.
“In recent years, I have found myself in a vaulted room reminiscent of a home chapel, but only reminiscent, as occasionally it is stormed by carnival jesters and fools. This mix of religiosity and secularism, which characterizes the surroundings, flows into my paintings and guides my brush. There are two major directions in my art, a message that has branched out: relationships between people, situations, tensions, and the connection between humans and God, which manifests in biblical narratives,”– Jüri Arrak.
